The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of the UAE recently demonstrated the steps users should take to protect their WhatsApp accounts:
1. Open the WhatsApp app
2. Tap on ‘Settings’
3. Select ‘Account’
4. Select ‘Two-step verification’
5. Tap ‘Enable’
6. Enter 6-digit PIN
7. Tap ‘Next’ and repeat the PIN
8. Add an email address
9. Tap ‘Next’ and repeat the email address
10. The two-step verification has now been enabled
